1918 - Non-Aboriginal Women of Canada Get The Vote - The Great War Ends

Following the 1916 vote of women in Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canadian women receive the right to vote federally on May 24. The only exception to this right is by status Indian women who will finally gain federal suffrage in 1960.

On November 11 (11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month), the First World War ends. By its conclusion of the 600,000 Canadians who fought, more than 70,000 died and 173,000 were wounded.
